On Saturday 12th December, teams of dancers from Leeds, York and Hull will be performing routines at The Light Shopping Centre in order to raise money for the NSPCC!
Many of the dancers involved are new to dancing and have never performed in public before so this is a huge challenge for them. They have all worked really hard to learn their routines and will be performing at least 5 times between 12 noon and 5.30pm, so please do come along on the day to support them.
The first Lindy at the Light took place in 2005. Since that time, we have raised over £44,000 for the NSPCC! We have a target of £4,000 this year and you can help us get to that target by:
- Coming on the day, watching the routines and putting money in our buckets;
- Sponsoring someone you know who is taking part; or
- Visiting our Just Giving page and donating online.
If you’re donating online, you can use the following hashtags in your message to show your support for a specific group:
#LF for Lindy Fridays
#SwSoc for Leeds Uni Swing Soc
#KS for Kingston Swing
#York for York
#Tap for Dance Studio Leeds Tappers
Check out Lindy at the Light on Facebook for updates about the event.
Here’s a video from 2014 which shows Leeds Uni Swing Soc’s great routine:
Let’s smash our target for this fantastic charity this Christmas!
Thank you for your support.
