Free Event at the M&S Archive – 26th April

For a fantastic afternoon, come down to the M&S archive 11am-3pm on the 26th April. We will be running taster classes, doing a performance and DJing for your pleasure, there will be tea and cake and it’s all free. The last two events were great and even broke records for number of people attending. Address and link below.

Come and dance with Swing Dance Leeds and find out who Cycling Sam was and why he is such a famous M&S character! Listen to a fascinating M&S Innovations talk all about the 1950s textile revolution and the post-war consumer boom, and see our fabulous 1950s fashions and cinema adverts. Dress up in your most glamorous 1950s outfit and enter our Best Dressed Competition!

There’ll also be tea and cake!


Part of the Yorkshire Festival Fringe 2014.

Everyone is welcome and there’s no need to book, just drop in between 11am and 3pm.

Underbeat Blues 6th Oct – New Exciting Changes!

Another fabulous monthly workshop from Underbeat Blues. Whether you are giving it a go for the first time or have already caught the blues bug, we’ll teach you some fancy new moves and help you continue to develop your connection and musicality.

Although Bar room bar has being a great blues scene we would like to grow and provide you with more space to practice so we are moving to the spinning wheel. We will be in the function room for late Sunday blues…..

1940s Dance in Dewsbury 28th Sept

At Dewsbury Town Hall, 28 September 2013, A.R.S present a 1940s night of dance and music. So put on your dancing shoes, dress to impress, and come and dance the night away. With cabaret style table seating, and a large dance floor. Featuring live music from the sensational Miss Lola Lamour, on one of her very few live appearances in this area. Also featuring specialist 1940s DJ Big George and The Andersons.

With a licensed bar and food available this is a night that you will not want to miss, and if you don’t fancy dance, simply sit back in comfort and enjoy the music, the company, and the great atmosphere. Whether you are a 1940s fan or not this promises to be a night to remember. Don’t miss out, and don’t forget your gas mask!

The fun begins at 7:30 and run through until midnight.
