Underneath the Stars Festival – Cannon Hall, Barnsley

Swing Dance Leeds is teaching taster classes this weekend at Underneath the Stars Festival!

Underneath the Stars is a fantastic family-friendly festival and we are really excited to be returning!  On Sunday 23rd July, we’ll be teaching a swing dance workshop, which will be followed by a dance with music provided by the David Broad Trio!

As well as our classes and the amazing band line-up, there are lots of other activities to get involved in, including street theatre and storytelling, circus skills, arts and crafts workshops as well as an open farm!  We’d definitely recommend this as a fantastic day out and it is just £55 for a day ticket (£20 for children aged 7-15 and free for under 7’s)!

We’ll also be teaching solo Charleston and Shim Sham workshops on the Friday and Saturday of the Festival.

Come along and have a dance!

Swing Dance Leeds at Beatherder

Two weeks ago we went and taught at Beatherder Festival . It was an awesome experience, not something that is usually happens at events like this. The organisers put together a tea and cake stall and set up a makeshift dance floor in ‘the ring’. The crowd were totally up for it and we really enjoyed teaching and dancing with them. Below is a little video and some pics of the day.
