Underbeat Blues 6th Oct – New Exciting Changes!

Another fabulous monthly workshop from Underbeat Blues. Whether you are giving it a go for the first time or have already caught the blues bug, we’ll teach you some fancy new moves and help you continue to develop your connection and musicality.

Free parking on site

Although Bar room bar has being a great blues scene we would like to grow and provide you with more space to practice so we are moving to the spinning wheel. We will be in the function room for late Sunday blues…..

Welcome Freshers

If you’re just starting University and you’ve come across Swing Dancing, be sure to check out all the regular beginners classes in Leeds by going to the ‘Classes‘ page.

It’s awesome fun, a great social dance to be done with as many people as possible. Keep an eye out on this website, Facebook and twitter for all the updates, opportunities, exciting socials and workshops!

The one to watch!

If you haven’t be following the new BBC period drama called “Peaky Blinders” which started a couple of weeks ago. You can still catch the first two episodes on iPlayer. However (for no particular reason) if you only have time to watch one episode, this Thursday 9pm BBC2 is the one to watch.

Continuing Lindy 2nd October

After a successful first run of the “Continuing Lindy” course
This is for all those people who have been asking “what’s next?” at the end of our fundamentals courses. Please note the later start time of 8.30pm now that we are running the Fundamentals Course and the Continuing Lindy Course at the same time.

4 week course
2nd Oct – 23rd Oct
Wednesdays 8.30-9.30pm
@The dance studio leeds
£30 for the whole course.

This course will expect that you have attended the fundamentals course (and ideally have been practicing) or know both 6 and 8 beat footwork and can comfortably string several basic moves together on the social dance floor. We will cover swingouts/lindy turns as well as musicality and of course more advanced technique and moves. Like always the class will be small and tailored to the people who are attending.

Fundamentals Course – 16th October

Our fundamentals course is a very popular way to kick start your dancing. This course will help you build your basic skills giving you a solid foundation in fundamental lindy hop moves and techniques.

– Appropriate for beginners, improvers, and anyone else who wants to build their basics

1940s Dance in Dewsbury 28th Sept

At Dewsbury Town Hall, 28 September 2013, A.R.S present a 1940s night of dance and music. So put on your dancing shoes, dress to impress, and come and dance the night away. With cabaret style table seating, and a large dance floor. Featuring live music from the sensational Miss Lola Lamour, on one of her very few live appearances in this area. Also featuring specialist 1940s DJ Big George and The Andersons.

With a licensed bar and food available this is a night that you will not want to miss, and if you don’t fancy dance, simply sit back in comfort and enjoy the music, the company, and the great atmosphere. Whether you are a 1940s fan or not this promises to be a night to remember. Don’t miss out, and don’t forget your gas mask!

The fun begins at 7:30 and run through until midnight.

Tickets are £12.50 each.

30th Aug – Jazzy Friday Social

This night keeps getting better and better! This will be the last Jazzy Friday Social so don’t miss out!

This Friday we’re hosting a social evening at The Spinning Wheel pub. There will be awesome music, space to dance and drink and chat. You don’t need to be a dancer to come along, it’s a great night out either way. Feet SDL

There will be a Solo Jazz class at the start which is open to everyone, no experience or partners required. Learn cool moves like “Boogie Back” the “Suzy Q” and the “Shorty George”. After this there will be good tunes, good people and a good floor to have a great Friday night.

The Spinning Wheel is easy to get to, about a 15min walk from the city centre or catch buses 1/2/3, they all stop right next to it and there is also a free car park.
